Shadow and Light will explore the heart of Mystical Christianity through teachings and practices. Participants will be invited to not only learn about this beautiful and boundless tradition, but to develop their own Mystical practices of meditation and contemplation.
Class #1 - What Is Christian Mysticism?
Explore the foundation of Christian mysticism, the path of spiritual unfolding, and the balance between shadow and light in our spiritual lives.
You will learn
- How your mindset around achievement actually interferes with the organic process of spiritual unfoldment,
- How to engage in this type of spiritual practice, and
- How to stay connected to your own sovereignty and sense of motivation
Your soul is the essential guide, learn how to trust this reality within yourself.
Class #2 - Christian Mysticism and the Bible.
Discover how mystics interpret the Bible as a living text that offers deeper spiritual truths beyond dogma and literal interpretations.
You will learn
- How interpretive frameworks can expand or narrow our understanding of this wisdom text.
- The overriding framework within Christian Mysticism.
This class includes a guided practice of lectio divina to contemplate the deeply mystical passage Matthew 6:22-23.
Class #3 - Christian Mystical Meditations
Learn how to practice Christian mystical meditations, including prayer and contemplation, and cultivate a deeper inner connection with Jesus and Mary.
You will learn:
- What meditation, contemplation and prayer are from a mystical Christian perspective.
- How these fundamental practices deepen our experience of Love.
- How spiritual growth involves a deep willingness to be in the complex difficulty of being a human being.
Includes a guided meditation into Divine Love.
Class #4 - Christian Mysticism and Healing
Investigate the role of healing in Christian Mysticism, including practices of self-forgiveness and spiritual empowerment through metanoia.
You will learn:
- How esoteric and Mystical practices come together to create healing modalities.
- A fresh perspective on challenging concepts like repentance and sin.
Includes guided self-forgiveness meditation as a powerful avenue into healing.
Class #5 - Christian Mysticism and Community
Understand the importance of spiritual community and group healing practices, including the role of communal blessing groups for healing and connection.

- What to do when when we feel defensive, criticized and misunderstood.
- How a healthy, dynamic, safe and spiritually alive community can facilitate powerful healing.

Class #6 - Christian Mysticism and Spiritual Direction
Explore the principles of spiritual direction, healthy teacher-student relationships, and the process of listening to inner Divine guidance.
You will learn:
- How destructive power dynamics happen in spiritual leadership.
- How to recognize and navigate healthy spiritual direction as a potent catalyst for coming into a love relationship with God.
Includes a guided meditation/writing practice for listening to the Divine inside oneself.
Live Community Sessions with the Teachers
Once a month there is a Live Session with the teachers and other students of Journey Into Mystical Christianity. Ask questions and get support. Most students find it a powerful way to learn that others are having similar struggles and hear the creative ways they are showing up for themselves amongst the chaos of their lives.
